& D) Gross and Net Champions, Gross and Net 1st, 2nd and 3rd Runners-up.

The MEDSA-Vice Mayor’s GK Cup is held to raise funds benefiting Davao City’s
Gawad-Kalinga Home Development Program, an endeavor of our Vice-Mayor Rody
Duterte to provide the city’s homeless and poorest of the poor a basic need that is
shelter.

In the past, when Duterte was the mayor, such tournaments, then dubbed as the
MEDSA-Mayor’s GK Cup”, were also staged every August, which has generated
enough funds to build more than 70 houses at Davao City’s relocation site in
Tibungco. It has also made possible the construction of 5 duplex houses, a dining
hall, kitchen and laundry building at the Ray of Hope Village (women’s detention
center) at the Davao City Jail in Maa. Recently finished were 6 houses at the Mintal
relocation site for families who were rendered homeless during the biggest fire that
hit the city.

“Recently, our city experienced another major calamity with flash floods that have
found more families homeless, thus the Vice Mayor has intensified his drive to raise
more funds to respond to the increasing need for shelter”, Bangayan said.

“And we have started receiving generous support from several corporations
and individuals who have also been very helpful to Duterte’s cause in the past.”
Bangayan added.

This tournament is presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc., a Davao born
petroleum company and supported by Davao Light and Power Corporation, Davao
City Water District, NCCC, Hexat Mining, Apo Golf & Country Club, Infinity, Tefasco,

The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Philippine Airlines, Chika-an and Micah Construction.

Registration is now open at Apo, Ranchos Palos Verdes and Davao City golf clubs.
